Do you and your teen rely on a "safe word or phrase" situation to keep them out of trouble? No I'm not talking about 50 Shades of Grey, but a secret code word or phrase only you and your teen know.
Safe words are used to make Mum or Dad the 'bad cop'' while letting your teen save face with their friends and not succumb to peer pressure.
When I was a teen we had a phrase - if I was in a sticky situation I'd ring and say "Mum is the cat ok?" and my Mum would immediately know that I wasn't comfortable and needed a swift extraction.
How much easier would it be to ditch the safe word altogether and just send an alert with their Safelet SOS band
Your teen can silently send an alarm with recording to you, without their friends or anyone else knowing. You can listen to what's happening, see where they are and then make arrangements to pick them up. SO much safer and easier than safe words or phrases! Your teen can use it anywhere - on the bus or in a taxi, walking home from school or sport, friend's houses or parties, any time they need help.
